The Campaign

Help us raise money for our SEED campaign

At Calthorpe we have four core principles which are ingrained in all that we do. We run as a community garden, but we are much more than just an idyllic oasis.

Our sports pitch and gardens provide our users with

much needed outside space for exercise. We also educate as we go along, teaching people of all ages about the importance of sustainability and gardening. Through The Living Lab Project, we not only talk the talk, but we also walk the walk. We demonstrate an innovative, closed-loop food-waste-energy system which provides new opportunities for local participation, education and training. We are an inclusive charity which embraces diversity and we look forward to welcoming new members.

During the coronavirus pandemic we are providing even more vital services to the local community than ever before, but we need your help to be able to continue to do so.

  • We want to be able to continue to provide access to our gardens for everyone as well as the most vulnerable in our community. This enables people to be able to grow fresh fruit and veg, get some fresh air and exercise and socialise at a safe distance

  • We are also sending seeds and compost out to vulnerable members of our community who are isolating. To be able to continue to do this we need donations from people like you

  • If we are to continue to offer a safe space for weekend activities for families with children, we need to be able to remain open. This is only possible if we receive donations to help us do so

  • We also want to be able to continue our service of reaching out to those who have no access to internet, family or friends during this difficult time to check that everything is okay. This will only be possible with your help

Sport

Creating better social conditions through sport and our garden activities allows us to provide opportunities for people to exercise, meet and take care of each other and the environment.

Education

Through the power of volunteering, our early years educator and our nature classes, we are able to provide our community of all ages with vital skills and critical social interaction.

Environment

Managing sustainable green space and community facilities through our living lab project enables us to improve our environment for all to enjoy.

Diversity

Diversity is a gift which we at Calthorpe cherish. Our community is non-discriminatory and welcomes people from all backgrounds. We create a healthy and inclusive atmosphere.
